Grow Your Business Tip

Let Your Customers Tell-a-Friend to Grow Your Business

There is no denying that growing your business by referrals is powerful stuff. Get enough referrals and you could eliminate advertising altogether. What a cost savings!

What if I told you that a feature could be added to your Web site that makes giving referrals easy and even provides insight into what they are thinking? Sound interesting?

"Tell-a-Friend" is software that can be added to the pages of your Web site or eNewsletters to do just that. It provides a visual suggestion and a means to send an email to a friend. Depending upon how this is implemented, it could allow them to attach a personal note expounding on the negatives or benefits of a particular item that caught their interest.

You can do this with regular email, you say? Yes, but the power does not stop there. Email alone can not give YOU the powerful information that lies behind that innocent little tool, such as who sent it, who they sent it to, exactly which Web page they sent it from, and what they said.

These are the sophisticated tools that your competitors are using. If you are serious about having a Web site that works for you and is not just a pretty face, this is a great tool to add to get started. Call me to find out how.

Disk Crashes Do Happen -- Here is an Easy Solution

Are you prepared? It is easy to put it out of your mind.  But the consequences could be devastating to your business -- costly, time-consuming, loss of credibility.

You know the old saying, "If you are too busy to do it right the first time, when will you find time to do it over?".

The time and money needed to fix the problem now is just a fraction of the cost for the recovery.

Do disk crashes happen? Yes. I personally know of two people in the last six months whose computer hard drives crashed and destroyed all of their data.

You guessed it -- they had no data backup. They spent weeks reinstalling software, manually re-entering data, and reconfiguring their system to work "just like it was".

Here is a simple and cost-effective solution that solves two problems at once:

1. Remembering to do regular backups
2. Being able to quickly recover from a hard drive crash.

Buy an external hard drive (a 120 GB hard drive is around $200) and simply plug it into your computer using a USB port.

Buy the software called Power Quest Drive Image 7 ($69) which easily and reliably lets you set up automated backup jobs that will completely copy the entire hard drive from your original computer to the new external hard drive.

Mission accomplished. Peace of mind. If your hard drive crashes, you have a complete backup to be able to quickly restore. If you need further information or assistance, give me a call.

More Than a Pretty Face

I would like to proudly announce the premier of my newly revised Web site! http://www.websitehelper.com.

New look. New content. New features.

I was starting to feel like the cobbler's child that never got new shoes, then I jumped at an opportunity to turn lemons into lemonade. I took advantage of having unplanned free time over the holidays (having to unexpectedly cancel my trip to Florida to visit my sister who was ill -- she's fine now) and got it done.

I incorporated all of the features, plus some new things, that I routinely build into the Web sites that I build for YOU. The result -- a "work-horse" of a Web site -- not just a pretty face.

I invite you to take the "pretty face" test for your Web site, look at a search engine optimization (SEO) case study with some great results, or find out how to increase sales for your business.
